I enjoyed this a lot – it is a delicate topic, dealing with elderly parents who need to be admitted to full-time care, especially when your family background has been rather dysfunctional.  Philip Seymour Hoffmann and Laura Linney again demonstrate just why they are among the top cinema actors in the States these days with excellent nuanced performances. Tamara Jenkins’s script is one of the wittier and more authentic I have seen for a long time.  Satisfying.
