Bride and Prejudice

 

Continuing this wave of bitzers comes a Bollywood film for the west taking Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice as its inspiration.  Filmed in India, the UK and LA it has all the colour, song, dance and social customs of these Indian classics, at times delightful and at times quite extraordinarily disconcerting.  It is entertaining but quite long enough and considering you have to suspend all belief, enough is enough.  I liked it for a change but wouldn’t want to see them too often.  Interesting to see Kiwi Martin Henderson in the lead – he acquits himself well and the main star is ex Miss World Aishwariya Rai who is now a huge movie star in India.  She is very good looking and does her bit well too.http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/1443/bride20wo.jpg
