The Constant Gardener
The Constant Gardener
A gripping film set mainly in Kenya about the drugs companies, their desire to test out dubious products on poor Africans, their lack of accountability with regard to this and the connivance of corrupt governments.
The film has some excellent performances notably from Ralph Fiennes, Rachel Weisz and Pete Postlethwaite, an excellent script based on John Le Carré’s book and great photography. Directed by Fernando Meirelles of City of God fame, this is a highly recommended film and although some critics seem to have reservations I found it much more enjoyable than say ‘The Interpreter’.
